3F-Faith Forensic Files Case No. 001: The Prophetic Probability of the Messiah

The goal of the Faith Forensic Files is to move the conversation from “blind faith” to “mathematical certainty.” We are treating the Bible not as a book of stories, but as a forensic record—a collection of data points written in advance that defy the laws of chance.

To start this series, we examine the Messianic Signature. If a man claims to be God, the world demands proof. God provided that proof through the dimension of Time.

The Data Set: The Pre-Written History

Below are a few of the “Forensic Markers” used in this experiment. All were written between 500 and 1,000 years before the birth of Jesus Christ.

  • The Location: Born in Bethlehem (Micah 5:2).
  • The Entry: Riding into Jerusalem on a donkey (Zechariah 9:9).
  • The Betrayal: Sold for exactly 30 pieces of silver (Zechariah 11:12).
  • The Execution: Hands and feet pierced (Psalm 22:16). Note: This was written before crucifixion was even invented as a Roman execution method.
  • The Burial: Buried in a rich man’s tomb (Isaiah 53:9).

The Forensic Experiment: The Science of Probability

In the 1950s, Professor Peter Stoner and 600 students from Pasadena City College applied the principle of probability to these specific prophecies. They weren’t looking for “feelings”; they were looking for odds.

The Calculation:

If you take just eight of these prophecies, the chance of any one man fulfilling all of them by sheer coincidence is:

1 IN 100,000,000,000,000,000

The Visual Proof (The Silver Dollar Test):

To understand the magnitude of this number, we perform a thought experiment.

  1. Take $10^{17}$ silver dollars and spread them over the entire state of Texas.
  2. They will cover the state two feet deep.
  3. Mark one coin with a red “X” and stir the entire mass thoroughly.
  4. Blindfold a man and tell him he can travel as far as he wants, but he must pick up that one specific coin on his first attempt.

The mathematical chance of him picking that coin is the same chance that the prophets of the King James Version were just “guessing.”

The Conclusion: An Intelligent Source

Statistical science dictates that once you reach odds of this magnitude, “coincidence” is no longer a valid scientific explanation. The only remaining conclusion is Design.

“I am the LORD: that is my name: and my glory will I not give to another, neither my praise to graven images. Behold, the former things are come to pass, and new things do I declare: before they spring forth I tell you of them.” (Isaiah 42:8-9, KJV)

If the “Code of Time” is 100% accurate, then the Author of that code must exist outside of our linear time. He is not a feeling; He is the Programmer of History.
