HEAD OF GOLD: Babylon (605–539 BC)
King Nebuchadnezzar. The first and greatest kingdom. Represents absolute monarchy and wealth.
CHEST & ARMS OF SILVER: Medo-Persia (539–331 BC)
The two arms represent the two ruling powers (Mede and Persian). Inferior to Gold, but vast in scope.
BELLY & THIGHS OF BRONZE: Greece (331–168 BC)
Represents the rapid, forceful conquest under **Alexander the Great.** Known for military might (bronze) and global dominion.
LEGS OF IRON: Rome (168 BC – AD 476)
Iron symbolizes military strength and ability to **’break in pieces.’** The two legs represent the eventual split into Western and Eastern Rome.
FEET OF IRON & CLAY: The Divided Kingdoms
Represents a final, fractured political state—part strong (iron), part brittle (clay)—that cannot fully unite. This era continues until the end.
THE STONE: The Kingdom of God
A kingdom **cut out without hands** that strikes the feet and **fills the whole Earth.** Represents the eternal, divine Kingdom established by Christ.
