The Complete Inventory of End-Time Prophecies (Fulfilled & Unfulfilled)

I. The End of the Old Covenant Age (Fulfilled Prophecies)

These events concluded the Old Testament age, but their fulfillment validates all remaining prophecy.

  1. The Sealing of Prophecy and Messiah’s Appearance: The prophecy of 70 weeks (490 years) determined for Israel, concluding with the Messiah’s sacrifice and the end of offerings.
    • “Seventy weeks are determined… to make an end of sins, and to make reconciliation for iniquity…” (Daniel 9:24)
  2. The Rise of the Forerunner (John the Baptist): The messenger sent to prepare the way for the Lord’s first coming.

  3. The Outpouring of the Holy Spirit: The promised endowment of the Spirit for the new age.

  4. The Total Destruction of Jerusalem and the Temple (A.D. 70): The physical end of the sacrificial system.

II. Conditions Leading to The Day of the Lord (The Present Age)

These are the ongoing and escalating signs and conditions marking the “perilous times” leading to Christ’s Return.

  1. Perilous Moral Conditions: People will exhibit extreme selfishness and rebellion.
    • “…in the last days perilous times shall come. For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy…” (2 Timothy 3:1-2)
  2. Religious Hypocrisy: False teaching and a form of godliness without real power.
    • “Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.” (2 Timothy 3:5)
  3. Scoffers and Mockers: People will ridicule the promise of the Lord’s Second Coming.
    • “Knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts, And saying, Where is the promise of his coming?” (2 Peter 3:3-4)
  4. Increased Global Warfare and Famine: Escalating geopolitical instability and lack of resources.
    • “For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places.” (Matthew 24:7)
  5. Universal Gospel Witness: The message of the Kingdom preached globally as a final sign.
    • “And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come.” (Matthew 24:14)

III. The Final Sequence of Events (The Tribulation & Return)

These events mark the immediate lead-up to and culmination of the Lord’s Return.

  1. The Great Apostasy: A major departure from the truth just before the Antichrist is revealed.
    • “Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first…” (2 Thessalonians 2:3)
  2. The Revelation of the Man of Sin (Antichrist): The lawless one who takes his seat in a rebuilt temple and demands worship.
    • “Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God… shewing himself that he is God.” (2 Thessalonians 2:4)
  3. The New Covenant with Israel (Broken): A covenant or agreement made with Israel by the Antichrist, broken mid-week (3.5 years).
    • “And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease…” (Daniel 9:27)
  4. The Abomination of Desolation: The Antichrist setting up an object of worship in the Holy Place, beginning the “Great Tribulation.”
    • “When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoso readeth, let him understand:)…” (Matthew 24:15)
  5. The Appearance of the Two Witnesses: God’s two final prophets who minister for 1,260 days in Jerusalem.
    • “And I will give power unto my two witnesses, and they shall prophesy a thousand two hundred and threescore days…” (Revelation 11:3)
  6. The Mark and World Economic System: A system where all people are compelled to receive a mark to buy or sell.

  7. The Judgments of the Seven Seals: The initial four Horsemen and subsequent judgments of the opened scroll.

  8. The Judgments of the Seven Trumpets: A second, more severe series of judgments impacting the land, sea, rivers, and sun.

  11. The Marriage Supper of the Lamb: The celebration in Heaven between Christ and the Church.

  12. Signs in the Sun, Moon, and Stars: Dramatic celestial upheaval immediately before Christ’s visible return.

  13. The Destruction of Babylon the Great: The swift, catastrophic judgment of the final world religious and commercial system.
    • “Alas, alas that great city Babylon, that mighty city! for in one hour is thy judgment come.” (Revelation 18:10)
  14. The Second Advent (Christ’s Visible Return): Christ returns physically to the earth with His saints.
    • “And the armies which were in heaven followed him upon white horses, clothed in fine linen, white and clean.” (Revelation 19:14)
  15. The War of Armageddon: The final battle where Christ defeats the Antichrist, the False Prophet, and the armies of the world.
    • “And he gathered them together into a place called in the Hebrew tongue Armageddon.” (Revelation 16:16)
  16. The Binding of Satan: The Devil is chained and cast into the bottomless pit for a thousand years.
    • “And he laid hold on the dragon, that old serpent, which is the Devil, and Satan, and bound him a thousand years.” (Revelation 20:2)
  17. The Millennial Reign of Christ: Christ rules the earth from Jerusalem in perfect righteousness and peace for one thousand years.
    • “And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them… and they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years.” (Revelation 20:4)

IV. The Eternal State (The Final Events)

  1. The Release and Final Rebellion of Satan: After the millennium, Satan is loosed for a short time to deceive the nations one last time.
    • “And when the thousand years are expired, Satan shall be loosed out of his prison, And shall go out to deceive the nations which are in the four quarters of the earth, Gog and Magog…” (Revelation 20:7-8)
  2. The Great White Throne Judgment: The final judgment of all the wicked dead throughout history.
