The Hour of His Coming

The Hour of His Coming: The Prophetic Status of the Final Age

The Lord commanded us to “watch.” Yet, He also decreed that “of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only” (Matthew 24:36, KJV). This creates a central paradox for every believer: how does one live in a state of urgent, constant readiness without succumbing to the error of setting dates?

The focus of this page is not on predicting the time, but on maintaining the Prophetic Status required by Scripture. It is a commitment to living by the twin truths of prophecy: Imminence (He is near) and Ambiguity (The time is hidden).

The Immutability of the Watch Command

The overarching theme of the New Testament regarding the Lord’s return is the necessity of perpetual readiness. The moment will arrive suddenly, when the world is least expecting it. This urgency is what distinguishes the faithful Bride from the slumbering world.

The Thief in the Night Analogy

The Apostle Paul drives home the surprise factor using the analogy of a thief, which is why we must never grow complacent:

“But of the times and the seasons, brethren, ye have no need that I write unto you. For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night.” (1 Thessalonians 5:1-2, KJV)

The very ambiguity of the timeline is the engine of watchfulness; it forces us to live every moment as if it were the final moment. If the date were known, watchfulness would cease to be a virtue, replaced instead by mere temporal planning.

Prophetic Status: Approaching The Door

The scriptural command is not to calculate, but to discern the signs of the times. When Christ spoke of the end, He immediately followed it with an analogy for observation:

“Now learn a parable of the fig tree; When his branch is yet tender, and putteth forth leaves, ye know that summer is nigh: So likewise ye, when ye shall see all these things, know that it is near, even at the doors.” (Matthew 24:32-33, KJV)

This means the spiritual status of the world is irreversibleโ€”we are permanently in the age of the final fulfillment. Our spiritual Prophetic Status must reflect this reality:

  1. The Status is Fixed: The message is not “The Return is Tomorrow,” but “The Return is Imminent.” This distinction is critical. We are not waiting for more signs to appear before the final age begins; we are living in the final age, and the world’s status is permanently set to Approaching The Door.
  2. The Hour Remains Hidden: Every hour, every minute, confirms only one thing about the prophetic moment: that it is concealed by the Father. The faithful believer maintains a posture of urgent expectation, not of fearful prediction.

The true Prophetic Hotspot Status is a theological device: A commitment to live every minute aware of the certainty of His return, coupled with a faithful surrender to the ambiguity of its precise timing.
