The scavenger hunt will reveal a final message: JESUS IS THE BREAD OF LIFE.


The “God’s Provision” Scavenger Hunt

Starting Point:

  • Instruction: Give the first clue to the child to begin the hunt.
  • Clue: “Consider how the wild flowers grow. They do not labor or spin. Yet I tell you, not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these.”
    • Luke 12:27
  • The Object: A flower or potted plant.
    • What to Hide: A piece of paper with the word “JESUS” on it, hidden near a plant.

Clue 2:

  • Instruction: The child finds the word and the next verse. The next clue is hidden near a pair of shoes.
  • Clue: “He will also provide a place for your feet on a high and secure place.”
    • Psalm 18:33
  • The Object: A pair of shoes or sandals.
    • What to Hide: A piece of paper with the word “IS” on it, hidden inside a shoe.

Clue 3:

  • Instruction: The child finds the word and the next verse. The next clue is hidden near a faucet or a cup of water.
  • Clue: “The water I give them will become in them a spring of water gushing up to eternal life.”
    • John 4:14
  • The Object: A faucet, water bottle, or a glass of water.
    • What to Hide: A piece of paper with the words “THE BREAD” on it, hidden near the water source.

Clue 4:

  • Instruction: The child finds the words and the next verse. The next clue is hidden near a lamp or light switch.
  • Clue: “The Lord is my light and my salvationโ€”whom shall I fear?”
    • Psalm 27:1
  • The Object: A lamp, a light switch, or a flashlight.
    • What to Hide: A piece of paper with the words “OF LIFE” on it, hidden on the lamp.

The Final Puzzle:

  • Instruction: The child finds the last words. The final puzzle is a riddle that requires them to combine all the words they’ve found.
  • The Puzzle: “You’ve gathered all the words to see, that God provides for you and me. Now, put the words together and say, the final message for today!”
  • Final Answer: “JESUS IS THE BREAD OF LIFE.”
