The Record
Judgment of the Waters
The first plague turned the Nile to blood, striking at the very source of Egyptian life and the deity Hapi. It proved that the Creator alone controls the life-blood of the earth.
“And all the waters that were in the river were turned to blood.” — Exodus 7:20
Judgment of the Heavens
The seventh plague of fire and hail descended from above, dismantling the Egyptian trust in the sky gods. It demonstrated the King’s power over the elements.
“So there was hail, and fire mingled with the hail, very grievous…” — Exodus 9:24
Judgment of Darkness
The ninth plague brought a darkness that could be “felt.” It was a direct forensic assault on Ra, the sun god, proving the King is the Master of Light.
“And there was a thick darkness in all the land of Egypt three days.” — Exodus 10:22
Judgment of the Firstborn
The final and most devastating plague. It established the “Passover” pattern, proving that only the Blood of the Lamb provides protection from divine justice.
“For I will pass through the land of Egypt this night, and will smite all the firstborn…” — Exodus 12:12
