The Great Falling Away is the final, frantic attempt of humanity to evict God from His own creation, and the first stone is the primary target: “Thou shalt have no other gods before me” (Exodus 20:3). This is the most broken decree in the history of the world, for it is the head of the serpent from which all other lawlessness flows. We are not merely dealing with ancient statues or distant myths; we are witnessing the total eclipse of the Divine by the ego of man. In our modern high places—the university, the laboratory, and the digital cathedral—man has looked at the throne of the Most High and said, “I will sit there.” This is the ultimate “Forensic Analysis” of our time: we have traded the Creator for the creature, and the result is a world spiraling into a madness that can only be cured by the return of the King.
The cards are on the table, and the hand being played by the spirit of this age is one of total blasphemy. We see a “Christianity” that has become a hollow shell, a religion that uses the name of God to bless the idols of the state, the idols of social justice, and the idols of personal “truth.” This is the “abomination of desolation” (Matthew 24:15) beginning to manifest in the hearts of the professing church. When a pastor prioritizes the approval of the world over the authority of the Word, he has set another god before the face of the Almighty. When a believer bows to the “science” of the day while ignoring the “Thus saith the Lord,” he has joined the Great Falling Away. We are living in the days of the “man of sin… who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God” (2 Thessalonians 2:3-4), and he is finding a world already primed for his arrival because they have already broken the first stone into a thousand pieces.
The remnant must understand that there is no middle ground. To hold the First Commandment is to be an enemy of the modern world. It is to declare that there is only one Truth, one Way, and one Sovereign. The bang with which this series concludes is the sound of the world’s systems shattering against the Rock of Ages. We must purge our lives of the subtle deities of comfort, reputation, and digital distraction. We must return to the primitive, violent exclusivity of the bible: “Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God is one Lord” (Deuteronomy 6:4). The Day of the Lord is at hand, and the idols of this world—be they silver, gold, or silicon—shall be cast to the moles and to the bats (Isaiah 2:20). Stand fast, for the King is at the door, and He will not share His glory with another.
