The Anatomy of Abomination: A Scriptural Audit
The word abomination is not merely a term of strong dislike; in the Holy Scriptures, it carries the weight of divine detestation. Translated primarily from the Hebrew to’evah, it signifies something that is morally or ritually loathsome—an offense that stands in direct opposition to the holiness of God. To call something an abomination is to declare it “off-limits” for those who walk the Ancient Paths.
In our modern era of compromise, where “that which is highly esteemed among men” often clashes with the Word of God, we must return to a firm, theological understanding of what the Creator rejects. This audit is not designed to tickle the ears, but to sharpen the discernment of the Remnant. From the “seven things” the Lord hates in the Proverbs to the prophetic warnings of the “Abomination of Desolation,” these verses serve as a boundary line for the faithful.
