Spirituality: A Lexicon of Deception Entry

In the current age of confusion, “Spirituality” has become a hollow vessel into which the world pours every manner of superstition and self-conception. It is often contrasted with “religion” to suggest a more liberated, personal, and inclusive connection to the divine—one that requires no book, no blood, and no narrow gate. The world’s signal of spirituality is a mist of “good vibes,” “universal energy,” and “inner divinity,” yet when subjected to a forensic examination, it is revealed as a gateway for ancient sorceries. This is not a pursuit of the Holy Ghost, but a pursuit of the spirit of the power of the air. The Scripture warns that in the latter times, the departure from the faith would be fueled by “giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils” (1 Timothy 4:1). A spirituality that does not submit to the Spirit of Truth is, by definition, a spirituality of error.

The deception of modern spirituality lies in its promise of the “supernatural” without the “Sovereign.” It encourages the individual to seek spiritual experiences—through meditation, manifestations, or mystical practices—while bypassing the only Mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus. This “Noise” suggests that all paths lead to the same peak, provided one is “spiritual” enough to find the way. However, the Bible allows for no such vagueness. We are commanded to “believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God” (1 John 4:1). Any spirit that does not confess that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh—and that He alone is the Way, the Truth, and the Life—is the spirit of antichrist. True spirituality is not a feeling of oneness with the universe; it is being “spiritually minded,” which the Word declares is “life and peace” (Romans 8:6), found only through the indwelling of the Holy Spirit.

As we watch the clock move toward the midnight hour, this formless “Spirituality” is acting as the universal solvent, dissolving the foundations of sound doctrine to prepare the world for a global, mystical union. It is a return to the “vain imaginations” of a darkened heart. The Remnant must understand that we do not fight against flesh and blood, but against “spiritual wickedness in high places” (Ephesians 6:12). We do not need a new “spiritual experience”; we need to be “filled with the Spirit” according to the Word, bearing the fruit of righteousness that is by Jesus Christ. In a world intoxicated by the wine of mystical deceptions, we must remain sober and vigilant, anchored to the only Spirit that bears witness to the Truth.
