A descendant of Gad, Jahdo was the son of Buz and the father of Jeshishai. He dwelt in the rugged, high-pasture country of Gilead. In the “Forensic Analysis” of the Gadite genealogies, Jahdo is listed among those who were reckoned in the days of Jotham, king of Judah. He represents the steady, generational continuity of the faithful remnant who occupied the difficult frontier, ensuring that the law of God was maintained even in the furthest reaches of the land.
“Guni, and Jaroah, and Gilead, and Michael, and Jeshishai, and Jahdo, and Buz;” (1 Chronicles 5:14)
