In the tribe of Issachar, a tribe known for having “understanding of the times,” we find Jahmai. He was a son of Tola and a chief man in his father’s house. The record specifically notes that in the days of David, the number of such men was great. Jahmai was part of the military and civil strength of Israel, a man of “Physical Obedience” who was ready for the summons of the King. He was a “renowned” head of his house, providing the stability necessary for a nation to prosper under the Truth.
“And the sons of Tola; Uzzi, and Rephaiah, and Jeriel, and Jahmai, and Jibsam, and Shemuel, heads of their father’s house…” (1 Chronicles 7:2)
