Celeste Rivas Hernandez, The Price of a Silent Witness

The path of the faithful is often beset by the shadows of this world, where the prince of the power of the air seeks to devour the innocent and silence the testimony of the righteous. In the modern age, where fame is an idol and mammon is the master, we find a tragic and sobering account of a young life snuffed out by a monster shielded by the very systems designed to protect our children. This is the forensic account of a 14-year-old girl, the fixers who signed the checks, and the unwavering truth that will not be buried in a potter’s field.

The subject of our scrutiny is David Anthony Burke, known to a world of digital noise as the rapper d4vd. While the masses sang along to his hit, “Romantic Homicide,” a far more literal and gruesome reality was unfolding behind the gates of a Hollywood Hills rental. The scriptures warn us in Proverbs 1:16, “For their feet run to evil, and make haste to shed blood.” In April 2026, the law finally caught up with Burke, charging him with the murder and mutilation of Celeste Rivas Hernandez—a child he allegedly groomed and discarded like a liability.

The Testimony of the Times

Celeste was but 11 years old when she first met Burke, a relationship that was illegal from its inception under the laws of California. By the time she was reported missing from her home in Lake Elsinore in February 2024, the monster had already taken hold. Her parents, Jesus Rivas and Mercedes Martinez, sought the help of the law but when Riverside County Sheriff’s detectives confronted Burke that February, he looked them in the eye and lied, claiming he did not know Celeste was a minor.

The system failed, and Celeste returned to a home where her parents desperately tried to sever the connection by taking her phone. Yet, Burke’s malice knew no bounds; he allegedly drove to her hometown and paid a classmate $1,000 to provide her with a secret device. This was the lure of the serpent, bypassing the parental protection to maintain his grip on a child.

The depravity of the monster is further revealed in the digital evidence. Prosecutors have unsealed findings of a “significant amount of child pornography” and sexual abuse images on Burke’s phone—evidence that he was not merely a wayward youth, but a predator who documented his iniquity. As it is written in Luke 12:2, “For there is nothing covered, that shall not be revealed; neither hid, that shall not be known.”

The forensic details of this case are a “Forensic File” of pure horror. When Celeste threatened to expose their illegal bond and “ruin” his career, Burke allegedly chose to protect his pocketbook over her life. On April 23, 2025, he allegedly stabbed her multiple times and watched her bleed out.

To hide his sin, he used tools ordered under a fake name—chainsaws, a burn cage, and a blue inflatable pool to contain the evidence of his dismemberment. Most chillingly, the autopsy confirmed that two fingers were missing from her body. Prosecutors believe Burke intentionally amputated her fingers to remove a tattoo of his name, a desperate attempt to scrub his identity from her flesh. While he left her right index finger, which bore a matching “Shhh….” tattoo to his own, the missing fingers have never been found. He then hid her remains in the “frunk” of his Tesla, where she lay for five months as he continued a global concert tour, profiting from the very noise he created.

The world may call it a “Romantic Homicide,” but the Word of God calls it a crying sin. David Burke stands accused of being a predator who used his wealth to circumvent the law and his hands to mutilate the innocent. We must look closely at those who signed the checks—the management and labels who leased the very home where this evil was permitted to dwell. Reports indicate that these powerful figures not only funded the residence but visited the home while Celeste was allegedly present. They chose the their cut of the money over the life of a child.

Celeste Rivas Hernandez was a victim of a culture that worships the idol of fame. As the legal battle moves toward the preliminary hearings in May 2026, we stand in defense of the truth, knowing that no tattoo can be cut away from the record of Heaven.
