The world remains in a stupor, blinded by the “Noise” of secularism and the “Great Falling Away,” yet the ancient paths reveal a definitive legal and prophetic pattern. To understand the Lord’s Return, one must look at the Hebrew marriage ceremony—not as a quaint tradition, but as a forensic map of our redemption. As it is written, “For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church: and he is the saviour of the body” (Ephesians 5:23). Every step of the ancient ceremony is a shadow of the substance that is even now being fulfilled in our sight.
The Selection and the Price (The Mohar)
In the ancient pattern, the Groom initiated the covenant. He traveled from his father’s house to the home of the bride to negotiate the mohar—the purchase price. This was a legal transaction of the highest order. Our Bridegroom did the same, descending from the ivory palaces of heaven to this dark earth. He did not come to browse; He came to buy. “For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God’s” (1 Corinthians 6:20). The price was His own blood, shed at Calvary to seal the New Covenant.
The Cup of Acceptance
Once the price was offered, a cup of wine was set before the bride. If she drank, she accepted the proposal, and they were legally betrothed. This is the state of the True Church today. We have drunk of His cup and entered into a binding contract. Though we do not yet see Him, we are legally His. As the Word says, “This cup is the new testament in my blood: this do ye, as oft as ye drink it, in remembrance of me” (1 Corinthians 11:25). We are a “set apart” people, waiting for the consummation of this legal bond.
The Separation and the Father’s House
Following the betrothal, the Groom departed. He returned to his father’s house to build a bridal chamber (chuppah). During this time, the Bride was “consecrated,” wearing a veil to show she was no longer available. This is the “Imminency” we live in. Christ ascended to the Father’s right hand to prepare our dwelling. “In my Father’s house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you” (John 14:2). He waits for the Father’s signal, while we wait in the world but not of it.
The Midnight Cry and the Snatching
The most dramatic phase is the Harpazo—the “Snatching.” At an hour known only to the Father, the Groom departs with a shout. He does not knock; He arrives with the blast of the shofar. The Bride is lifted into the Apiryon, the royal litter, and carried into the air, her feet leaving the earth. This is the literal fulfillment of the Blessed Hope. “For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first” (1 Thessalonians 4:16). We will be “caught up”—carried in the King’s carriage—to meet Him in the clouds.
The Seven Days and the Marriage Supper
Once snatched away, the Bride and Groom enter the chamber for seven days of intimacy, hidden from the world. This corresponds to the period of the Great Tribulation on earth, during which the Church is sequestered in the Father’s house. Only after this period do they emerge for the Marriage Supper of the Lamb. The veil is removed, and the union is celebrated before the assembled guests of heaven. “And he saith unto me, Write, Blessed are they which are called unto the marriage supper of the Lamb” (Revelation 19:9).

The Bridegroom is Stirring
The evidence is irrefutable. We are not waiting for a “spiritual renewal” of the world, but for a physical Bridegroom to enact a legal right. The price is paid, the chamber is finished, and the Father is preparing to give the command. The “Signal” is clear: the night is far spent, and the day is at hand.
“And at midnight there was a cry made, Behold, the bridegroom cometh; go ye out to meet him.” (Matthew 25:6)
