The Rebellion of “New Revelation”

The Rebellion of “New Revelation”: Adding to the Sealed Word of God

The greatest safeguard the believer has against the coming Antichrist is the closed canon of the Bible. However, a massive movement has swept through the professing church claiming that God is doing a “new thing” and that we need “new revelations” and “modern-day apostles” to lead us. This is nothing less than a spiritual coup d’état—an attempt to dethrone the Word of God and replace it with the whims of man.

The Finality of the Word

The Scripture does not leave room for “updates” or “add-ons.” When the Apostle Jude wrote his epistle, he spoke of a faith that was already finalized.

“Beloved, when I gave all diligence to write unto you of the common salvation, it was needful for me to write unto you, and exhort you that ye should earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints.” (Jude 1:3, KJV)

“Once delivered” means it is finished. It is a complete deposit. When men claim they have a “fresh word from the Lord” that adds to, changes, or “clarifies” the Bible in a way that contradicts its plain meaning, they are not prophets; they are usurpers.

The Snare of Subjective Experience

The “New Revelation” doctrine shifts the final authority from “Thus saith the LORD” to “I feel the Lord saying.” This moves the believer onto the sinking sand of human emotion and subjective experience.

If the Bible is not the final, finished authority, then the believer has no way to test the spirits. This is exactly what the enemy wants. If you can be convinced that a “prophet” has a direct line to God that bypasses the written Word, you are ripe for the “strong delusion” that the Bible warns will characterize the last days.

“For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect.” (Matthew 24:24, KJV)

Building the Altar for the “Man of Sin”

The Antichrist will not arrive claiming to be a hater of God; he will likely arrive as the ultimate “Apostle” and “Prophet,” backed by “lying wonders” (2 Thessalonians 2:9). By conditioning the church to follow “anointed” men rather than the written Word, the New Revelation movement is building the very platform the Antichrist will stand upon.

They are teaching people to look for a man who speaks with supernatural authority, preparing them to accept a “new revelation” that will ultimately lead to the worship of the Beast.

The Theological Verdict: A Strong Rebuke

To seek a “new word” is to insult the Living Word. God has spoken fully, finally, and forever in His Son and His Scriptures. Any man who stands in a pulpit and claims to have a revelation that “completes” or “updates” the Bible is under the curse of God.

“For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book:” (Revelation 22:18, KJV)

We do not need a new move of God; we need a return to the Old Paths. We do not need a fresh word; we need to obey the Ancient Word.
