The Treason of the Social Gospel

Trading the Blood of the Lamb for the Works of Man

There is no greater betrayal of the Great Commission than the “Social Gospel.” It is a subtle, demonic shift that moves the focus of the Church from the eternal to the temporal. It tells the sinner that his problem is his environment, his poverty, or his lack of education, rather than his rebellion against a Holy God. It is a “gospel” that seeks to make the world a better place for people to go to hell from.

The Great Omission

The Lord Jesus Christ did not come to earth to lead a political revolution, to end poverty, or to fix the Roman infrastructure. He came to die.

“For the Son of man is come to seek and to save that which was lost.” (Luke 19:10, KJV)

The Social Gospel turns the “Great Commission” into a “Great Omission.” It omits repentance, it omits hell, and it omits the Blood. By focusing on “social justice” and “humanitarian aid” as the primary goal of the church, false teachers have turned the House of God into a glorified non-profit organization. They have traded the “sword of the Spirit” for a “soup ladle,” and in doing so, they have left the perishing without a Savior.

Feeding the Body, Starving the Soul

The Scripture warns us that man’s primary need is not physical bread, but the Word of God (Matthew 4:4). While the Bible commands us to be charitable, it never allows social work to replace the preaching of the Word. To give a man a meal but withhold the Gospel is the height of spiritual cruelty.

“For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul?” (Mark 8:36, KJV)

The Social Gospel advocates are obsessed with the “Whole World” and indifferent to the “Soul.” They are busy rearranging the deck chairs on the Titanic while the ship is sinking into the abyss of God’s judgment.

The Blueprint for the Kingdom of Man

Why is the Social Gospel so aggressively pushed today? Because it is the theological framework for the New World Order. It prepares the “church” to participate in a global system of “unity” and “equity” that requires no mention of the name of Jesus.

By prioritizing “collective salvation” and “global citizenship,” the Social Gospel conditions people to look for a world leader who can solve their physical problems. This is the very platform of the Antichrist. He will offer bread, he will offer peace, and he will offer “social justice”—all while leading the world into a final war against the Lamb.

The Theological Verdict

The Church has one mandate: to preach Christ and Him crucified. We are not here to save the world; we are here to pull people out of it.

“And others save with fear, pulling them out of the fire; hating even the garment spotted by the flesh.” (Jude 1:23, KJV)

The Social Gospel is a coward’s gospel. It is the path of least resistance because the world does not hate a church that feeds it; the world hates a church that tells it that it is lost. We must cast off this lukewarm, man-centered heresy and return to the rugged Cross.
