Why “Staying Out of Politics” is a Doctrine of Demons

In the modern era, a new and subtle deity has been erected in the foyer of the church: the god of Neutrality. This false god demands that the soldier of Christ lay down his spiritual weapons at the door of the public square. It preaches a gospel of “niceness” and “non-interference,” suggesting that to speak against the legalized destruction of truth is a distraction from the “true mission.”

This is not wisdom; it is a forensic retreat. It is the salt losing its savor, and it is a direct betrayal of the Lordship of Jesus Christ.

The Myth of the Middle Ground

The proponents of this mindset often hide behind a distorted view of “loving like Jesus,” claiming that to take a firm stand against cultural rot is “divisive.” They have forgotten—or perhaps they choose to ignore—that the Truth is inherently divisive. Light does not negotiate with darkness; it displaces it.

Scripture leaves no room for the lukewarm who seek to bridge the gap between the Word of God and the whims of a rebellious State.

“I know thy works, that thou art neither cold nor hot: I would thou wert cold or hot. So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth.” (Revelation 3:15-16 KJV)

Neutrality in the face of evil is not a “third way”; it is a vote for the status quo of the enemy. When the laws of men begin to legislate the erasure of God’s design—whether it be the definition of life, the nature of the family, or the boundaries of morality—the silence of the pulpit is a scream of complicity. To stay “out of politics” when politics has entered the domain of the soul is to surrender the sheep to the wolves.

The Hireling’s Excuse

The “Neutrality” doctrine is the preferred shield of the hireling shepherd. It allows him to maintain his social standing and his “inclusive” reputation while the flock is devoured by cultural mandates. He claims he is “focusing on the heart,” but he ignores the fact that the heart is being conditioned by a world system that he refuses to rebuke.

We are commanded to expose the works of darkness, not to coexist with them under a white flag of “civility.”

“And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them.” (Ephesians 5:11 KJV)

To “reprove” is a legal and forensic act. It means to find fault, to convict, and to present the evidence of God’s truth against the lies of the age. A church that will not reprove is a church that has surrendered its authority to the very powers it was meant to challenge.

The Verdict of the Cross

The Cross of Christ was the least “neutral” event in human history. It was a violent, public, and absolute declaration against the power of sin and the prince of this world. There was no middle ground on Calvary, and there is no middle ground for the believer today.

We are currently witnessing a systematic attempt to define what is sacred through the lens of humanism. For the believer to remain “neutral” while the Truth is being struck from the public record is an act of spiritual treason. We must return to the boldness of the prophets who did not ask for permission to speak, but declared, “Thus saith the Lord.”

“Cry aloud, spare not, lift up thy voice like a trumpet, and shew my people their transgression, and the house of Jacob their sins.” (Isaiah 58:1 KJV)

The time for a “polite” faith is over. If the Church does not stand as a wall against the tide of apostasy, it will be swept away by it. We do not answer to the magistrate; we answer to the King of Kings.
